Keynote Speaker Sgt. Maj. (Retired) of the U.S. Marine Corps Edward Schnug was wounded in action twice while fighting in Saipan and Okinawa in 1944 and once in Korea in 1950. In addition to three Purple Heart Medals, he was awarded the Silver Star Medal for Gallantry in Action, a Presidential Unit Citation (PUC), and 20 other awards for distinguished service. Ed served in many Greater Washington Chapter 353 and MOPH Department of Virginia offices, including Chapter 353 Commander four times and Department of Virginia Commander in 1992-1993. He is the Senior Vice Commander and Americanism Officer of the MOPH Chapter 353 and Department of Virginia Inspector. |
